1. It states in section 10.G as-builts that there is a line item for as-built drawings in the price sheet.
Will that line item be added to the pricing sheet?
There needs to be a CLIN (Contract Line Item Number) for the drawings. That way, when the as-built drawings are provided to the VA, they can be invoiced for payment.
In fact, there needs to be a separate CLIN for each contract deliverable.
2. There is no device inventory that is provided for any of the buildings. Can an inventory be provided for all buildings?
Device inventory attachments are included in these question responses.
3. It appears there are new buildings that have been added to the campus can would also include the device types and quantities? Since the contract has battery replacement it would important to have that information too.
Currently, the only new building that has been added to the fire alarm system is Building 56 (Liberty Building). There has been no list created for that building, so device quantities will need to be taken off of the construction drawings.
4. If the initial VA AutoCAD that is provided has discrepancies such as incorrect room numbers, incorrect floorplan layouts or other inaccurate information how will the cost of updating and correcting the drawings be handled? Will the contractor be responsible for making those changes?
The VA will provide drawings in AutoCAD format showing the current room numbers.
5. Is the contractor responsible for testing and certification of the kitchen hood systems? Or is the contractor responsible for verifying the fire alarm connection to the kitchen hood system only?
The Fire Alarm Maintenance Contractor is responsible for:
4.2. FIRE SUPRESSION TECHNICIAN/CONTRACTOR:
The (Fire Alarm Maintenance) contractor is required to provide an independent Fire Sprinkler Contractor, who is a licensed fire sprinkler installer for wet systems and processes a State of Missouri and Kansas Fire Sprinkler Contractor’s license. Copies of licenses must be given to the VA. This technician will be responsible to actuate all fire alarm devices/components on the fire suppression system during inspections, testing, and maintenance. This technician shall be fully familiar with the types of systems at the VAMC. The contractor is also required to provide the services of a licensed and qualified Hood Suppression System Contractor for the annual and semi-annual testing and certification.
6. On the kitchen hood systems how many tanks, systems, nozzles and links?
There are 2 Ansul Systems; one in the main kitchen and one in the canteen grill area.
Kitchen: 1 Tanks,2 valve boxes, 9 Nozzles Canteen: 1Tanks, 1 valve boxes , 4 Nozzles
7. In section 4.1.E it is mentioned there is a separate line item for updating as builds. Will this line item be added?
Same answer to number 1 above.
8. Will elevator recall/shunt trip be tested after hours? Will VA coordinate with elevator contactor for testing?
Elevator recall for Buildings 1 and 26 (8 elevators) will be done outside of normal business hours. Elevator recall for Buildings 2, 3, 15 and Honor Annex (6 elevators) can be done during normal business hours. The VA will coordinate the testing with the elevator company.
9. In section 7.0.C it states reports are due within 7 days from completion. It states in section 7.2 the reports are due within 14 calendar days. We would like a clarification as to which is correct?
We would also like to request 14 calendar days to provide reports.
In the interest of documentation accuracy; 14 calendar days will be satisfactory, but a shorter time frame is preferred.
10. Do you know if the KCVA can provide current room numbering of the facility, as it would be helpful when updating of the record drawings and graphic screens in the network computers?
