About this file

This document is an Amendment to Solicitation (Standard Form 30) for VA Illiana Health Care System's Satellite TV System Maintenance contract. The solicitation (36C25225Q0709) has been amended to extend the quote submission deadline to September 29, 2025, at 12:00 PM CDT. The amendment includes a comprehensive questions and answers section and supplemental information about the existing CATV system.

Key details include maintenance for a satellite TV system serving 17 buildings at the Danville VA facility, with current equipment including 53 Direct TV receivers, various amplifiers, and fiber optic components. The system currently uses Retirement Home TV (Direct TV) and local antenna channels. No current service and maintenance vendor exists, and no equipment warranties are in effect. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining the system, with performance expectations including a 24-business-hour response time and ensuring digital signal strength sufficient to display channels for veterans. Supplemental attachments include an equipment list, system diagrams, and equipment images to support potential bidders in understanding the scope of work.

This list also includes the amps/equipment the facility is are aware of, it does not account for amps that might be in a location that were placed by prior internal efforts.

Brief description of the cabling between buildings:

Direct TV satellite antenna is on building 125 with the Direct TV receivers in building 125. From there the cable goes out of building 125 to the rest of the buildings (101, 102, 103, 104, 58, 98) via RG cabling through the Tram Ways.

In building 98 there is also 2 antenna’s (Free local TV) on the roof that go to the Attic of 98 then we just recently took those to antenna’s and connected them together with a splitter/RG cable and sent the signal down to the basement of 98 where there the free TV is inserted into the rest of the cable TV system.

Also, in the basement of 98 there has been a Fiber converter that converts the RF to Fiber and then sent to Building 60 and Building 140.

At Building 140 the fiber is then converted back to RF/RG cable.

At Building 60 the fiber is converted back to RF/RG Cable and then split out to the Green Homes (Building 128, 129, 130, 131, 132, 133,) as well as Building 38 (Student housing across from Building 98 area towards building 60) via RG cabling.
