About this file

This document is a Vendor Questions & Answers file for a Milwaukee Snow Removal contract, containing seven vendor inquiries and corresponding responses from the VA (Veterans Affairs). Key details include snow removal service specifications such as emergency snow conditions (over 5 inches within 24 hours), temporary snow piling (historically approved once every 3-5 years), and off-site snow hauling procedures controlled by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). The VA clarified that Defensive Driving Certificates can be submitted upon award, declined a request for tiered pricing based on snowfall increments, and directed vendors to check contract 36C25222P0005 on FPDS for incumbent and period of performance information.

Answer: View contract 36C25222P0005 information via FPDS (https://www.fpds.gov) for incumbent, POP, and other relevant information.

Q2) Would the VA consider offering annual tiered pricing in incremental inches of snowfall rather than a monthly fixed price?

Answer: No

Q3) Would you allow the successful contractor to submit the Defensive Driving Certificates upon award, or must they be submitted with the proposal?

Answer: Yes

Q4) What amount of snow is considered an emergency condition to where temporary piling is allowed?

Answer: Anything over 5 inches within a 24-hour period or at the CORs discretion.

Q5) How often is temporary piling approved?

Answer: Hauling off-site shall occur once the designated snow storage areas are deemed full by the COR.
