SOLICITATION 36C25220B0014

AMENDMENT 0001

April 26, 2021

Project: Gladstone CBOC Improvements

Project Number: 585-387

Location: 2100 Minneapolis Ave, Gladstone, MI 49837-2060

Amendment 0001 hereby incorporates the following clarifications/change(s) into the solicitation package.

A. VENDOR QUESTIONS, submitted April 19, 2021

1. Ref storage room #208- The existing drywall wrapped opening appears to be 36” x 81-7/8”.

The typical 36 x 80” door frame requires 38” x 82-1/2” RO. Will the existing wall framing require rework to accommodate a 36” door?

VA REPLY: Contractor can install a 34” wide pre-hung door in the opening. No rework of framing should be required.

2. Ref nurse room #113- The existing opening has a wood jamb with casing which is 36” wide.

Can we assume once existing jambs are removed a new 36” wood frame will fit into the existing opening without framing rework?

VA REPLY: A 36” door is preferred but if opening doesn’t allow it a 34” door is acceptable.

3. Ref steel stud walls- Due to lead times on 20-gauge 33 mil G-90 steel studs, will 18-gauge 33 mil with a G-60 coating thickness be acceptable?

VA REPLY: Yes, the 18-gauge stud is acceptable.
