However, delivery of the Tray Conveyor may result in those activities being accelerated, and may cause some of those tasks to become inserted into, or be made concurrent with, other tasks in the Sequential Work Activities list.

The Contractor shall provide the following:

1. Task 1 Dish Machine Replacement

a. Work for this task is located in Damen Building Rooms 3495A, 3445, 3495, 2455 and 2457 and on the 3rd floor roof.

b. Coordinate with the VA-COR to minimize down time to the Nutrition & Food Service. During the time the Dish Machine is being replaced, the Nutrition & Food Service will use paper service.

i. The west and south construction barriers are to follow the soffit line. This is the area of work for the flooring and ceiling replacement.

ii. The location of the east construction barrier is to be coordinated with the VA-COR to allow the Triple Basin Sink to remain in service during Kitchen operation hours (5:00 am–8:00 pm) while allowing construction traffic and materials clear access during construction hours (8:30 pm–4:30 am). No weekend work will be allowed.

iii. Meet with the VA-COR and coordinate the location of the new equipment. Mark the floor as necessary for VA approval of the layout, leaving space for the subsequent installation of the new Tray Conveyor.

c. Construct temporary barriers/walls in Room 3495 to enclose the work area for the Dish Machine and the Tray Conveyor replacement. Provide negative air machines and vent to the outside. All work within the work area, including construction of the barriers, shall be performed nights from 8:30 pm–4:30 am. No weekend work will be allowed.

ii. Configure the temporary partition, lighting and power surrounding the Triple Basin Sink to allow the Triple Basin Sink to be accessible and remain in service during the work.

iii. Once the Dish Machine has been installed, reposition the east barrier surrounding the Triple Basin Sink in order to complete the remaining flooring and ceiling work while the Dish Machine is in operation for use by the VA. (See Item i.vii below)

d. VA will shut off local electrical, steam, and water utilities providing service to the existing Dish Machine and Tray Conveyor at the start of the work.

e. Contractor shall disconnect local electrical, steam, and water utilities providing service to the existing Dish Machine. Contractor shall disconnect the exhaust ductwork above the roof line, and temporarily seal the opening.

v. Install new grout;

vi. Seal new grout.

vii. Special considerations for the Triple Basin Sink, which must remain in operation during the Dish Machine replacement:

1. After the Dish Machine installation has been completed, the immediate, unaddressed area associated with the Triple Basin Sink must have the ceiling and floor work completed.

2. Relocate the temporary construction barrier or provide a new construction barrier to accommodate this work.

3. Coordinate with the VA-COR to schedule this work to be completed within 48 hours.

4. Nutrition & Food Service will provide alternate measures to clean their items in another location during the time the Triple Basin Sink area is being improved.
