The VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, Fort Wayne Campus located at 2121 Lake Ave.
Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46805 has identified the need for new restrooms and remodel existing restrooms on the first floor of Building 1 that meet the Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility
Standards (ABASS).
The project will renovate the Main Restrooms on the 1st Floor, convert (2) small restrooms into (2) ADA/ABASS compliant restrooms, and create new Restrooms East of the elevators that meet ABASS and VA Barrier Free Design Guide. The total square footage is approximately
1,500 sf.
This Document will include the following items that support the design process.
• List of specific codes, standards and guidelines being used for the building.
• Information on ambient conditions used both inside and outside.
• Assumptions on the use of the facility including space use, redundancy, diversity, space zoning, occupancy, operations, and space environmental requirements.
• System performance criteria.
• Specific design methods, techniques and software used in the design.
• Narrative descriptions including performance criteria for the lighting systems and other systems that are to be commissioned.
• List of major pieces of equipment along with basis of design manufacturer and model intended to be used in the design plan.
