QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES TO INVITATION FOR BID (IFB) NUMBER
36C25021B0058
IFB AMENDMENT NUMBER 00004
1. QUESTION – What are the work hours, on the prints in the bid it stats after 6pm on the weekends and if that is the case I do not believe there will be enough working days to complete the work in the scope with the allowed time in the bid documents.
Response: Drawings require after 6:00 p.m. on weekdays Refer to specification 230511 Section 1.8 for additional information.
2. QUESTION – In the bid there is no ducting prints we really need these added in order to complete an accurate bid.
Response: Ducting details are provided in the few locations where duct work is required. Reference drawings MH-1A, MH-1B and MH-2A. See following responses for additional information.
3. QUESTION – In the bid it stats to pressure test duct and if does not meet the allowable leakage it is to be sealed and retested. What is the preferred method of sealing Aeroseal internally or external water based duct seal.
Response: Drawings require leakage testing (at pressure) for air handling units only – no testing of existing ducts. Sealing shall be internal to air handling unit. See specification 233100 Section 1.3 for sealing and testing requirements for the small amount of new duct installations.
4. QUESTION – In all fairness we have no idea to the condition of the duct system so do you want us to bid for 100% failure and issue a credit for any duct that passes the pressure test.
Response: Duct leakage testing is not required except for the small amount of new duct. Leak testing is at air handling units only per drawings.
