REPLACE A-WING ROOF

PN: 583-21-203

Q-1) Project Manual: 07 53 23 – Missing specification, please provide. Note, manufacturer has indicated new insulation cannot be adhered to existing insulation over concrete deck areas.

Metal deck areas are permissible. Please advise.

A-1) It appears some manufactures may not allow insulation being adhered to insulation, so the drawings and specs have been revised to remove the additional 1/2 “insulation over the existing insulation.

Q-2) Project Manual: 07 72 00 – Missing specification, please provide.

Q-4) Solicitation: Section-Statement of Work. I. General Scope paragraph-A. Contractor responsibilities page 6 of 61.

Q-4a) Paragraph (A)(e): Please clarify how you would like the fastener replacement quantified. Can you provide a basis for an allowance or request unit pricing?

A-4a) Paragraph (A)(e): Please include 2500 fasteners in your bid.

Q-4b) Paragraph (A)(f): Insulation replacement – 20% replacement specified to be included in the bid. Is this in addition to the 28,000 board feet referenced in 01 00 00 General conditions? Please clarify both requests.

A-4b) Contractors should use 28000 board feet. The solicitation will be amended to reflect the proper amount.

Q-4c) Paragraph (A)(g): ½” insulation specified to be adhered to existing insulation.

Please clarify the material specification for this item.

A-4c) The additional ½ “insulation will be removed from the bid documents. Please refer to question 1.

Q-5) Site Visit: No cores of existing roof assembly were taken due to weather conditions. Can you verify existing insulation thickness at concrete and metal deck roof areas?

A-5) Please see attachment labeled “Roof Data” for roofing details of the existing roofs.

Q-6) What is the drain outlet size and connection type?

A-6a) Drain size = 4” A-6b) Connection type = No Hub

Q-7) What is the strainer diameter?

A-7) The strainer is 12” in diameter

Q-8) The solicitation calls for the drain to be cast iron. Does this include the dome?

A-8) Yes, the drain and strainer should be cast iron

Q-9) We have been told that Roofing materials are anywhere from 175 – 200 days on iso and 100 days + on membrane and fasteners. If project is awarded August/September that would put materials on site around February/March. Will the NTP/Project completion date be extended/allow for these delays in roofing materials?

A-9) If evidence was provided than the period of performance of the contract could be extended to compensate for the materials that were delayed due to the manufacture.

Q-10) Please confirm on a drawing where contractor will be allowed the dumpster/staging area. Also confirm if there will be space for jobsite storage / conex box within staging area.

A-10) The staging area will be located in the F lot which is located east of the parking garage.

The dumpster would also need to be placed in the F-lot. The dumpster could temporarily be relocated for a short amount of time to other areas for the main demo portion of the project.

Q-11) Will contractor be required to have a jobsite trailer on site?

A-11) No a jobsite trailer is not required.

Q-12) Will dumpster/staging area need to be fenced in with construction fencing?

A-12) Yes

Q-13) Please confirm that crane / hoisting/ rigging of materials would need to be completed on a weekend.

Q-13) Yes, all crane related work must be completed on a weekend.

Q-14) Please confirm location where crane can be set.

A-14) This was not specified because typically that is means and methods of the contractor.

Since the crane specs are unknow the location of the crane cannot be accurately determined.
