RFI Responses (cumulative) Question: In the access floor spec it referred to spec section 26 05 26 for grounding. There is no grounding spec for access floor. Please provide a grounding detail for access floor.

Response: Raised floor should be bonded to electrical system as per NEC requirements.

Question: In regard to the raised access flooring: The specs call for an aluminum panel and Tate Access Floors no longer makes an aluminum system. They are more than double the cost and not as strong as the concrete filled panels. Can we bid a concrete panel system?

Also, the specs call for carpet and we usually bid a bare panel - carpet to be installed by others.

Response: Please refer to attachment ASI-2, included with this amendment.

Question: Division 27 specifications are not provided. Are we to include rough-in only?

Response: See attached Spec Sections 270511, 270526, 270533, 271000, 271500.

Question: If we are to provide data/voice, where is the existing IDF/MDF that data/voice cables are to route to?

Response: The data closet is located in A-2147. (See attached drawing entitled “Drawing for Data Closet Location”)

Question: If we are to provide data/voice, how many data/voice cables does each communications outlet require?

Response: See attached Data Outlet Detail.

Question: Do TV locations require RG6 coax cable, or data/voice cable, or both?

Response: Both RG6 coax cable and data/voice cable are needed.

Question: In regard to access floor RFI question and responses: The NEC does not provide wire size for raised access floor systems.

What wire size is required and does each pedestal need grounded or is one connection point to floor system good? Please provide grounding detail.

Response: It has been determined that grounding/bonding is not necessary for the raised access floor system. See ASI – 3 (attached) Question: I am unable to determine the heights that the window shades need to be. Are you able to share any information? Photos of the space would also be helpful if drawings are unavailable.

Also, specs indicate cordless shades with control on the right side and the provision of a pole for their use. This is not typical.

Shade specs indicate 5% openness fabric but division nine specs and drawings indicate 1% openness fabric. Going with the latter unless you advise otherwise.

Response: Window shades in rooms A-2017, A-2022, and A-2023 have been removed from the project. A new window shade has been added to the one-way mirrored glass observation window in room A-2022. See sheet AS1002 for window height.

The VA would like to go to a corded shade as opposed to cordless.

Blackout shades should be opaque.

See additional information in attached ASI-4.
