About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) document for Project 621-23-104 Relocate Police Dispatch, containing 15 numbered questions and answers regarding project scope, personnel requirements, specifications, and contractor responsibilities.
Key staffing and site requirements clarify that the superintendent can serve as the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) if meeting both roles' qualifications, but the Construction Quality Control (CQC) system manager must be a separate individual who is a graduate engineer, graduate architect, or construction management graduate—field experience cannot substitute for this requirement. The laydown area and dumpsters will be located tentatively beside Building 36 (Old Morgue). Specifications address Room L024B's Static Dissipative (SD) floor finish as Armstrong Excelon SDT, and Room L032's flooring reuse with possible LVT 1 material pending VA final guidance on current floor condition. The existing concrete slab in the basement is 5 inches thick on grade, reinforced with 6x6-W2.9xW2.0 WWM on a 6-mil vapor barrier. The project contains no bid alternates, only a base bid. The RFI confirms lightning protection scope references electrical drawings, and the roof warranty is held by Eskola Roofing following a 2021 reroof. Drawing Modifications Sheet TD102 revises the responsibility matrix and corresponding notes 2, 24, and 29-42 to clarify scope, particularly regarding work requiring specific systems integrators for Radio-Motorola, Fire Alarm-JCI, Security-Avigilon, and medical gas services. Vendor contacts are provided for Simplex Grinnel (Johnson Controls), Motorola, Avigilon (Johnson Controls), and Evergreen Medical Services.
