About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) Log for a federal construction project involving exterior signage and wayfinding upgrades at a VA facility (FY26: NRM Project 548-23-112, RFQ #36C24826Q0480).
The log documents thirteen questions and answers exchanged between potential contractors and the VA between April 24, 2026 and May 5, 2026. Key clarifications provided by the VA include: (1) contractors must use vetted signage vendors with established track records; (2) Daktronics is an approved alternate to Watchfire for EMC boards with equal or better resolution; (3) contractors bear full responsibility for electrical work including trenching, conduit, wiring, and panel connections; (4) contractors must complete final footing design with signed/sealed calculations by a Florida registered structural engineer submitted for A/E-VA review and approval prior to installation; (5) dumpsters on-site are limited to 40 cubic feet; (6) full-size samples are review/mockup items unless contract documents explicitly permit final installation use; (7) existing pole usage is specified in the Exterior Sign Program Documents; (8) site restoration must comply with construction specifications; (9) work outside normal hours or restricted access requires advance VA review and approval with contractor coordination on phasing; and (10) the proposal deadline was extended to June 3, 2026 at 10:00 AM EST. All VA responses reference the Construction Specifications (Division 01 General Requirements, Division 10 Specialties, and Division 27 Communications) and the Exterior Sign Program Documents 100% Submittal Part 2 of 4 dated February 21, 2025.
