About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for a VA construction project, providing detailed responses to 22 contractor questions. The project involves renovation work on the 1st, 2nd, and attic floors of a VA facility, with a Period of Performance (PoP) of 730 days. Key technical details include existing building construction with cast-in-place concrete/beam systems, 5-inch thick concrete/terrazzo decks, and approximately 50-75% of existing partitions being 4-inch thick hollow clay tile masonry with plaster veneer.
Critical project requirements include: construction during normal business hours (7am-4pm, Monday-Friday), with loud demolition work potentially occurring after hours or weekends; a dedicated Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) who cannot serve other roles; and no additional licenses available for access control or CCTV systems (contractors must purchase any needed additional licenses). The project involves work on existing systems from manufacturers like Notifier (fire alarm), Honeywell & Trane (DDC controls), Avigilon (CCTV), and Tyco for access controls. The contractor is responsible for terminal cleaning, and Georgia state and local taxes must be included in the proposal.
