Solicitation Amendment#36C24723Q1095, Questions and Answers:
1. Question: We would like to know if this is a brand-new contract OR if there is (was) an incumbent performing these services. If not brand new, could you please provide the current / previous contract number?
Answer: The fire alarm system was installed in 2014. Sandlapper Controls has had a contract since 2019. Their contract runs out on December 16,2023. (36C24719P0193)
2. Question: In reviewing the PWS I had a clarification question. When are sprinkler 5yr internal inspections due? There is a line item each year for them to be completed. If some are due in different years, we would need to know how many are due each year. If they are all due in the same year will the CLIN be removed from other years?
Answer: The 5-year internal inspection is due 2024. This inspection is done once every 5 years. The inspection will be done at the Ralph H Johnson VA and Myrtle Beach Outpatient Clinic located at 3381 Phillis Road, MB, SC 29577. The 5-year standpipe is due in 2026. This inspection is done once every 5 years. The inspection will be done at the Ralph H Johnson VA only.
3. Question: I only have two RFI question right now: How many and type of sprinkler alarm valves are at each location? Can we have a site visit/survey prior to having to submit our bids? It is hard to accurately estimate a price with no historical knowledge of the facility.
Answer: 1 Alarm valve and it is located in E210.
4. Question: Additional RFIs: Is there a specific NICET level required for technicians? What is the system type (i.e., Edwards, Notifier, Simplex, etc.)?
Answer: The fire alarm system is a Gamewell/FCI E-3 Series with voice activation. NICET level 2 for test & inspection technicians.
5. Question: HurtVet has the following RFIs in reference to the subject solicitation: We respectfully request a 5-business day extension in order to accommodate a site visit, which is stated to be TBD. Are contractors responsible for repairs of deficiencies found during inspection? There is nothing within the scope that states how deficiencies are to be handled.
Answer: The contract is for test & inspection only. Deficiency repairs are not part of the contract. Site Visit dates is the following: November 2, 2023, at 0900 3rd of November 2023, starting at 0900am-1100am Est. and November 7,2023, at 0900am-1100am Est. Please contact the COR, Mr. James McKnight to coordinate date and times within the dates listed.
