Spec section 23 73 00/2.1/K calls for the chilled water coils to have galvanized supports. Should the casings be made from stainless steel?Specification shall remain as written, requiring hot dipped galvanized steel supports

Is it the intent to only replace the Hydronic piping and insulation from the isolation valves to the new equipment?Provide demolition and new work of chilled and hot water piping per H4 and H7. Intent is to replace and add piping and insulation only as necessary to properly tie in new units in the course of one weekend.

· The existing controllers are Honeywell and are to be upgraded.
· Is another Niagara/Triduim open protocol framework with BACnet comm. Acceptable? Local contractor will be hired to perform verification testing and intergrading to existing graphic package.

After the weekend AHU installed and before and ductwork is to be connected, the unit should be pressured tested before moving forward with the air distribution connection as per specification. Will there be a representative onsite to sign off on this testing? COR or approved VA representative will be available to sign off on pressure testing.

During construction in an area where the ceilings or fire suppression system will be disrupted, will NFPA 241 apply? Will the government require additional security measures beyond NFPA code such as fire watch, temporary fire alarms, adjustments to sprinkler heads, etc.Yes.
Does the Government have a fire alarm servicer that they currently work with? What is the name and contact information of the person or persons that will need to be coordinated with for security and fire alarm and suppression systems work and/or disruptions?Fire Alarm system is Simplex Grinnell. POC at Simplex is John Sawyer, 678-896-4090. VA has in-house Fire Safety Officer who can assist with outages.

Due to current potentially significant tariffs being placed on the importation of building materials such as wood or steel by the current Presidential Executive Branch, if a tariff is placed after bid time and before award will the government consider a price escalation on a contract value for products such as steel or wood should the executive branch levee tariffs effecting such materials? Most of these materials would still have been Buy American compliant as the tariffs would increase pricing on all steel or wood materials, regardless of origin. No, this is a firm fixed price contract.
Do you have a current sprinkler company under contract for the facility?Simplex Grinnell is our Fire Sprinkler monitoring company, see previous POC information for John Sawyer.

Spec Section 10 00 00 Section 1.1 Paragraph F States: 1. Prior to commencing work, general contractor shall provide proof that a OSHA certified “competent person” (CP) (29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2) will maintain a presence at the work site whenever the general or subcontractors are present. OSHA certified “competent person” cannot be the job site superintendent. Please advise. As long as the safety of the job is being properly maintained, the Site Superintendent may serve as the OSHA certified competent person. If the contractor received an excess of Safety write-ups or repeat offenses during the Weekly Construction Safety Committee (VA employees) site visit, the CO can direct the contractor to hire a separate Safety Officer to serve for the remainder of the project. The site superintendent may only serve as the OSHA competent person for specific tasks such as confined space entry, scaffold work, etc, if he has specific additional OSHA training allowing him to function as the competent person for such specific tasks.
