About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 36C24626Q0710 concerning dental stools procurement.

The document addresses four primary inquiries regarding stool specifications and requirements. Regarding brand requirements, responses clarify that no specific brand name is required provided products meet identified salient characteristics. On adjustable foot rings, the government confirms these are not needed for doctors' stools, though they are standard for assistant stools. For back rests, the government specifies these are required for assistant stools to prevent fatigue, contrasting with typical industry practice. On cylinder type specifications, the government indicates there is no issue with the current requirements. Finally, regarding caster type specifications, the government clarifies that casters do not require "tall" specifications for dentist stools, and this was not intended to reference cylinder height. The responses indicate the solicitation encompasses two distinct stool types—one for doctors and one for assistants—with differentiated feature requirements based on functional use and ergonomic considerations.

Dental Stools - 36C24626Q0710 Questions Responses

Also, is there a specific brand that was utilized as the reference when coming up with the stool requirements? I ask this because there are some unusual requirements: A Brand Name is not required as long as they meet the salient characteristics identified.

>Adjustable Foot Ring: This is standard for assistants stools. But typically dentist stools do not have an adjustable foot ring. Foot Rings not needed for Doctors Stools >Back Rest: This is standard for dentist stools. But assistants stools typically have an adjustable torso support. Back Rests are needed for the assistant stools to prevent fatigue >Cylinder Type: Usually doctors stools have an option between normal and tall cylinder height. But this is not a standard option for assistants stools. Not an issue >Caster Type: Casters do not have specifications such as "tall". Was this intended to be Cylindar type (tall) for the dentists stools? No, not tall for the Dentist Stools

A Brand Name is not required as long as they meet the salient characteristics identified. Do not need adjustable foot ring for doctors.
