About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for federal contract opportunity 36C24626Q0710 regarding the procurement of dental stools.
The document addresses clarifications on stool specifications for both dentist and assistant seating. Key clarifications include: brand name is not required provided salient characteristics are met; adjustable foot rings are not needed for dentist stools; back rests are required for assistant stools to prevent fatigue; caster type specifications do not include "tall" designation for dentist stools; and assistant stools should be beige in color (matching the dentist stool color requirement). Regarding assembly and installation, the contractor is responsible for assembling the stools, which would include unboxing them. Coordination with Supply Chain Management is recommended for assembly scheduling, as limited clinic space and patient care operations require assembly to occur outside normal business hours. The document clarifies that no separate line item exists for unboxing and installation services, but the contractor should anticipate these activities as part of the delivery obligation.

Dental Stools - 36C24626Q0710 Questions Responses
Also, is there a specific brand that was utilized as the reference when coming up with the stool requirements? I ask this because there are some unusual requirements:No, a Brand Name is not required as long as they meet the salient characteristics identified.
>Adjustable Foot Ring: This is standard for assistants stools. But typically dentist stools do not have an adjustable foot ring. Foot Rings not needed for Doctors Stools >Back Rest: This is standard for dentist stools. But assistants stools typically have an adjustable torso support. Back Rests are needed for the assistant stools to prevent fatigue >Cylinder Type: Usually doctors stools have an option between normal and tall cylinder height. But this is not a standard option for assistants stools. Not an issue >Caster Type: Casters do not have specifications such as "tall". Was this intended to be Cylindar type (tall) for the dentists stools? No, not tall for the Dentist Stools
A Brand Name is not required as long as they meet the salient characteristics identified. Do not need adjustable foot ring for doctors.
Does this solicitation require un-boxing and "installation" by the supplier on-site? (There is no line item for this, but there is language regarding installing product) See below Are the Assitants Stools also to be "Color: beige or white"? Currently only the Dentist stools specify a color. Beige
The chairs will need to be assembled. After reading through the documents, it stated that this would have to be done after hours. The assembly of the chairs will be done by the company they are ordered from. This will then need to be done during business hours. It will need to be done by the company due to claim purposes if applicable. Is this something I can setup with the clinic when the time comes?
The chairs will need to be assembled by the contractor, not sure what installation would be needed. As to assembly, would probably need to coordinate with Supply Chain Management on that. The space in the clinic is limited, and doing assembly during work hours would impede patient care
If the vendor is assembling the stools, It would seem like they would have to unbox them
