Replace Perimeter Fence

IFB 36C24619B0020

1. Can the pales of the new Beta fence be trimmed to accommodate the trees that are in the existing fence line in order to minimize the need for variation towards the inside of the property?

The new fence is to follow the route of the existing fence. If trees are encountered that would hinder the placement of the new fence then a determination will be made by the COR trimming fence or rerouting.

2. Can the existing fence wire and posts be cut off at approximately grade level and with the reaming portions of posts capped and the wire knuckled to minimize the disturbance of the soil on both the inside and the outside of the existing fence line?

The existing fence wire must be removed and the existing fence posts can be cut off at ground level. If the new fence post coincides with existing fence post then the concrete and fence post will have to be removed and the new fence post installed.

3. While preforming the fence work on the eastern side of the project, will the fence contractor be able to commandeer the parking spaces along to back curb close to the existing fence line by using temporary fence to cordon off the area for use as a lay-down area and work space?

No. The contractors staging area will be the fenced in area next to bldg. 71T. This will be coordinated with the COR prior to project start.

4. The removal portion of this project is going to require multiple dumpster pulls to dispose of the spoils. Due to the payout of the parking lots on the eastern side of the project the fence contractor will need to be able to cordon off the space(s) adjacent to the most southeastern curbing in the 1st parking lot on the right side of Arnold Rd coming. Can this be “officially” addressed prior to work beginning?

The dumpsters must be placed in the fenced in area next to bldg. 71T. This will also be the laydown area.

This will be coordinated with the COR prior to project start.

5. Will an encompassing GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) survey be provided by the chosen GC and available to all subcontractors and/or trades and scopes?

This is a question for the General Contractor. Refer to specification section 01 00 00 Section 1.9

Paragraph B, Contractor shall protect from damage all existing improvements and utilities near the work site and on adjacent property of a third party.
