B.2 STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

1. Contract Title. QA Equipment for Radiation Therapy

2. Background. The Washington DC VA Medical Center has a requirement for the Radiation dept Quality Assurance (QA) Solution to provide real-time, wireless measurement of the radiation dose delivered to patients during therapy. The system includes GED and ISORAD detectors for electron and photon beams, enabling direct verification of the actual dose administered. (QA) process and is supported by the recommendations of AAPM Task Group

#62. The equipment allows the Radiation Therapy Department to verify, in real-time, the accuracy of delivered doses to patients and supports more complex treatments, such as

Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) and SRS. In-vivo dosimetry ensures that patients receive the intended dose, reducing treatment errors to enhance the quality of care.

Procuring this equipment will enable the facility to offer these advanced therapies in-house.

There are two VHA directives that mandate quality assured radiotherapy equipment. They are the VHA Directives 1129 and 1414.

3. Scope of Work. The procurement shall include all parts, materials, labor, software/licenses, resources, and training required to implement and utilize the equipment/system to their fullest capacity. The solution offers comprehensive, end-to-end stereotactic QA, advanced radiotherapy procedures to be delivered within 90 days of contract award. All items must be covered by manufacturer’s warranty and procured through a manufacturer-approved distribution channel.
