About this file

This document is an amendment to Solicitation 36C24526Q0035 for courier services at the Huntington VA Medical Center, issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The amendment includes a series of questions and answers that provide key details about the solicitation. Historical usage shows 193 trips within a 30-mile radius and 48 trips outside that radius, totaling 1,672 miles in the past 12 months. The courier services will involve transporting various items including lab specimens, medications, blood products, and potentially items requiring cold storage.

Key operational details include a one-hour maximum response time for pickup, potential need for specialized transportation equipment like coolers and temperature logs, and the current services being provided by Crosstown Courier under contract 36C24525F0076. The solicitation is open to small businesses, with offers due on October 15, 2025, at 3:00 PM EST. While specific pricing was not disclosed, the amendment provides insight into the scope of services, including transportation of items ranging from envelopes to wheelchairs, with potential requirements for temperature-controlled transport and specialized handling.
