About this file

This document contains an amendment to a solicitation for upgrading patient bedrooms in the Community Living Center Unit B at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking to upgrade bedrooms to ADA standards, including installing patient lift systems with a minimum 600-pound lifting capacity in standard rooms and 1,000-pound lifting capacity in bariatric rooms. Bidders are advised to review existing site conditions and note that some work may already be partially completed. The amendment provides answers to contractor questions regarding lift specifications, extension over beds, ceiling redesign, anchoring details, and union labor requirements. Engineering details and calculations for the lift systems will be coordinated between the VA and lift manufacturer.
