About this file

This is Amendment 0001 to RFP 36C24225R0036 issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany, NY. The amendment provides answers to questions regarding a Fire Damper Project at Lyons VAMC.

The amendment clarifies that the project involves repairs or replacement of 33 total fire dampers across four buildings: Building 7 (12 dampers), Building 135 (3 dampers), Building 143 (9 dampers), and Building 57 (9 dampers). There are 16 total air handlers across these buildings. Work must be performed during regular hours Monday-Friday 8 AM-4:30 PM since the buildings are occupied 24/7 with HVAC systems always running. Contractors must notify the HVAC Supervisor (COR) 24 hours in advance of any shutdowns. After-hours work is not permitted. A dumpster can be placed in the parking lot by Building #136 Chiller Plant. A site survey has been conducted, though detailed fire damper sizing information is not provided beyond the quantity distribution across buildings.
