RFI ANSWERS TO SOLICITATION 36C24225Q0955 REPLACE FLOOR OPC- B8

LOCATION: CANANDAIGUA VAMC

1. Are the specified cove stick, and cap required or a guide. We normally use Roppe Cove stick a 1” stick, and an aluminum cove cap. Will that work?

Cove stick may differ from specified as long as it is submitted and approved by COR. Cove stick must meet requirements and be compatible with flooring system. Same applies to cove cap. Aluminum is fine. please provide full selection of standard colors to choose from.

1. Is there required standard deviations of the sub floor? If yes it could affect the 3-day schedule.

The sub floor is assumed to be within tolerance.

1.

Is the existing sheet vinyl installed with epoxy adhesive or acrylic?

Documentation suggests acrylic adhesive was used.

1. We understand that the work needs to be done under negative air. The existing rooms have drop ceilings, do you know if the walls extend all the way to the building lid? If not, will we need to seal the room to maintain a minimum -.02 on the containment? Do we need 3 stage entrances to each work area?

Work shall be performed off hours. Walls are framed to underside of deck above. negative air will be required, and no direct exterior discharge is available. Contractor shall utilize HEPA filter type negative air that is suitable for interior discharge of clean air. Rooms will need to be fully sealed with tack mats at entry/exit of workspace. Alternative work plans may be presented as long as it maintains full containment requirements per the infectious control specialist.

1. Will moisture testing be required?

Moisture testing will not be required unless so dictated by the manufacturer to comply with proper installation or warranty. Please consult specifications and manufacturer instructions for specified materials.
