1. During the pre-bid site visit, it was mentioned that areas above the ceilings in Buildings 92 and 93 may have asbestos.

1. Please provide information about the existence of asbestos in areas where we have to install fiber optic lines, and any other asbestos we may encounter on the project.

VA to provide existing asbestos survey reports. VA stated during design no asbestos in our area of work.

2. If asbestos does exist above the ceilings, can we install fiber optic lines in conduit below the ceilings?

VA stated during design no asbestos in our area of work.

2. The pathway shown for the underground fiber optic lines is sometimes directly below the center of the roadway between Bldg 176 and Bldg 92. May we run the underground conduit in the grass, next to the roadway, whenever possible to reduce the amount of the cutting and patching of the asphalt roadways?

Bid and install as shown. Contractor to provide credit if routed in grass and VA to review/decide if acceptable.

1. Specification for Plumbing section 22 05 011 part 3.7A Cleaning and Painting: It states the plant facilities, equipment and systems shall be thoroughly cleaned and painted.

Please clarify that the intent of the painting is only limited to the new work.

Yes, unless existing noted in drawings and specifications.

2. Section 22 05 19 Part 2.1 Turbine Water Meter: Please provide a recommended manufacturer.

After award if available AE will provide. Contractor to provide in submittal.

3. Section 22 05 23 Valves part 1.4 Submittals: Please provide the names of recommended valve manufacturers for the following: Gate Valves, Butterfly Valves, Check Valves, and Surge/ Back pressure Valves.

After award if available AE will provide. Contractor to provide in submittal.

4. Section 22 07 11 Plumbing Insulation: Please specifically state what lines and equipment are to be insulated. Existing booster pump piping, valves and fittings are not insulated.

Specification Part 3.1B calls for equipment to be insulated. Please clarify.

Follow spec requirements.

5. Section 22 11 23 part 2.3 Domestic Water Pressure Booster System: We would like to get clarification regarding the water pressure booster system that is required on this project. In the specification it is clearly stated that a factory fabricated, pretested pumping system be supplied that includes all pumps, motors, controls, VFD’s, valving and discharge materials all installed on a common structural steel skid. The associated pumping station drawing (SA-01-23 PP-101) indicates a field built in place pumping station utilizing the existing concrete structure (Deep area and shallow area trench). It would be very difficult to supply a prefab system utilizing vertical turbine pumps as the basis of design per pump manufacturer peerless. Please provide us with a photo of the entry level room for access and potential rigging whether there is a monorail or hoisting system in the entry room including its load capacity.

Contractor to verify/review and take photo during prebid walkthru.

6. Drawing PP-101 items 4 & 6 states that all pipe fittings and valves In the building & pit shall be https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstorage.procore.com%2Fv4%2Fd%2Fus-east-1%2Fpro-core.com%2Fcompanies%2F140824359949265%2F01J2Y4WQ1QPTZTR1PK1VWSHGHS%3Fsig%3D73829e44092d245e30f8a4256848555de61391bdd4482648aacc73deed55cf9a&data=05%7C02%7CTodd.Farr%40ramboll.com%7C6fe6dbaccca5407a872f08dca5b4413c%7Cc8823c91be814f89b0246c3dd789c106%7C0%7C0%7C638567440853254264%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=4uZWMf1o4lVCYvu6MVqi1sMIsQQNZ6YbYhiqbULtQ0o%3D&reserved=0 VHANYNChavaS Cross-Out cement lined ductile iron flanged fitting (125 PSI). Please clarify that the valves are not intended to be cement lined. In addition, provide us what class the ductile iron piping shall be.

Refer to spec section 22 05 23 and other specs.

1. Drawing PD-101 Tank Cleaning Items 7 & 8: Please provide the following information:

2. A photo of the tank inside structure and entry access or a reference drawing.

Contractor to verify/review and take photo during prebid walkthru.

3. How much water is left in the tank that needs to be drained and discharged into the grassy area? Contractor to verify/review and take photo during prebid walkthru.

4. How much loose debris is expected to be generated (Cubit Yards) ? Contractor to estimate.

5. In lieu of brushing the wall, could a pressure washer spray system be used? Yes, that would be acceptable.

1. Contract duration is 300 ccd. Per manufacturers, the drawing submittals take 8-10 weeks and the pump fabrications and controls take 40 weeks after approval. Assuming approval is given on the 1st round, the shipment will be made to the site almost 380 days later figuring one month of review time. We require minimum six months for demolition, installation, start up and testing after receiving shipment. Please revise the time duration to a reasonable time frame of 560 ccd.

VA to follow up with response.

1. Could you please add Floor elevations for each level inside the station with building dimensions?

Refer to drawings. Drawings are to scale with scale listed. Architectural drawings list floor, shallow pipe trench, and deep pipe trench elevations.
