This document contains a request for information (RFI) related to the federal contract opportunity to upgrade the heating system in Building 8 basement at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center. Key details include:
-
The project involves upgrading the existing heating system in the Building 8 basement to address needs during the non-heating season. Work will be done in phases to avoid impacting patient care spaces and clinical areas.
-
The period of performance for the contract is 180 days. Work can only be done during non-heating seasons unless supplemental heat is provided at no additional cost.
-
RFI responses clarify specifications around the existing ceiling grid and tile, use of ICRA barriers during work, approval of alternate equipment brands if performance standards are met, and pressure details for the steam system.
-
Asbestos abatement is not included in the contract scope and should be bid separately. Fire walls and smoke barriers are also identified.
The document provides relevant specification and site details to inform bidding on the contract opportunity from the Department of Veterans Affairs to upgrade the aging heating system.
