3 attachments: 1. See attached document: VA Bronx Updated Drawings for Animal Research Shock Tube_04-19-2019. 2. See attached document: Sign In Sheet Pre-bid 4-3-19 Animal Research Shock Tube Site Support. 3. See attached document: Request for Information and Answers (same below) Request for Information and Answers Please see attached Updated Drawings (the door moved and the electric panel remains)

1) Dwg AD-101, plan note no.2 states to close all openings to act as construction barrier. -- Please advise what is the deck height.

The deck height is approximately 16ft from deck to deck.

2) Please advise what is scope of the work for medical gas.

Schedule a med gas shutdown for the zone, demolish all branch lines going into the room back to the main lines, cap the tees, and recertify zone.

3) During the site visit we observed an existing electrical panel where new door is being installed. Please advise if electrical panels stays or has to be removed?

The electrical panel is to remain. Please see new drawing set that reflects this.

4) Spec section 05 50 00 para 1.1B states support for wall and ceiling mounted items SD055000-01 to SD123100-02. None of these items were found on drawings. Also please advise what is the scope of the work for this section 05 50 00.

Please see https://www.cfm.va.gov/TIL/sDetail.asp for details for those items. They show in-wall supports (metal backing) for various types of wall mounted items. The details for wall and base cabinets mounting (SD123100-01 and -02) are most relevant to this project.

5) Drawing A 401 indicates aluminum windows elevation but there are no details about the aluminum frame and glazing.

Aluminum windows are storefront system windows (Kawneer or equivalent), with frame thickness to accommodate for wall thickness (about 6-1/2”) and 1/2” tempered laminated glass. The rest of the dimension can be extrapolated from A-401.

6) Drawing A-101 plan note no.4 states that doors are acoustical wood doors with STC 45, but specs are for regular interior wood doors, also if doors are STC 45 then will the door frame and hardware has to be STC 45 too? Will the frames be hollow metal or wood? Please clarify.

Door and frames should be STC 45 rated or higher. Provide complete package of door, frame, gasketing, and hardware assembly to meet STC rating. Door should to be solid wood (if that can meets sound rating) but can be a wood veneer insulated door system to meet the sound rating. Frames should be metal but needs to meet sound rating and might need to be insulated as well.

7) Please specify the ceiling tiles manufacturer's item number.

Use Armstrong Ultima High NRC 1940 Square Lay-In 15/16” Tiles and Prelude XL 15/16” grid system. Also include sound damping backer such as Kinetics QuietTile.

8) There is a spec section 03 30 00 Cast-in-place concrete, please identify this work on drawings.

Cast-in-place concrete was only included in the event that sub-floor conditions were so varied that self-leveling concrete cannot be used to prepare sub-floor for new flooring. This condition is not expected and self-leveling concrete should suffice in preparing the sub-floor.
