About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation Amendment 36C24125Q0749 0001, related to a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) contract for physicist services at the VA Boston Healthcare System. The Q&A addresses three key vendor inquiries: the contract's status, previous contract information, and specific service requirements. The solicitation clarifies that this is not a brand-new contract (the previous contract number was 36C24120P0638), and the incumbent was F.X. Masse.

The solicitation is a small business set-aside for commercial items, targeting NAICS code 541690 with a $19 million size standard. The VA is specifically seeking a consulting physicist to perform annual testing for on-board imaging (OBI) and cone beam CT, as the facility lacks the necessary test equipment and CTDI phantom. Vendors must be registered in SAM.gov and VetCert databases, with verified small business status in accordance with the Veteran's First Contracting Program. The amendment serves to answer vendor questions and adjust the submission date from the original 9/10/2022 timeline.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

SOLICITATION AMENDMENT: 36C24125Q0749 0001

1) We would like to know if this is a brand-new contract OR if there is (was) an incumbent performing these services? The incumbent is F.X. Masse.

2) If not brand new, could you please provide the current / previous contract number? The previous contract number 36C24120P0638.

3) Are they wanting us to provide a therapy physicist to do the annual calibration of the linear accelerator too? No, the Government does not need a consultant therapy physicist to do the annual calibration of the linear accelerators. The Government needs a consulting physicist to perform annual testing for the on board imagining (OBI) and cone beam CT as the Government doesn’t have a CTDI phantom or the test equipment to do this testing at the VA Boston Healthcare System, MA.
