QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS – 36C24122Q0945 – REPLACE CHILLERS AND REMOVE/DISPOSE OF EXISTING CHILLERS. VA MEDICAL CENTER, BEDFORD MA

1. No pipe type is mentioned, will you add a type, or can we provide the pipe we choose? Replace in kind. Connection type is methods and means ( Victaulic, flanged, etc.) provided it meets ASME code.

2. Insulation is mentioned, but not heat tracing. I assume heat tracing is not included? Pipe is not heat traced.

3. When we read proposal, it would seem that piping and insulation will only be provided and the VA will use this material to make actual pipe connections. Please clarify? Correct, vendor will supply material to be installed by others. Vendor will need to coordinate and provide all connection material needed from new equipment to existing piping.

4. Are there tanks in the ground behind building 70 which will prohibit moving a crane and truck with chiller through the grass to easily access the chiller pad? We currently have no information on the wheel load capacity of the tanks.

FACILITY NOTE: Buildings 4 &70 shall come with BACnet-MS/TP or BACnet-IP communications cards on each chiller
