631-16-020 Renovate B6 HVAC and Roof Pre-Bid RFI Responses 07/26/2022
1. On Drawing Sheet MH-606, the Automated Glycol Fill System Schedule specifies John Wood Model JWOP-53-030 as the basis of design. In communicating with the MFR, this model does not match the specifications scheduled. John Wood model JWOP-53-030 is a 30 gallon unit with a 1/2 HP pump. 115 GPM in Note 2 is not accurate according to the MFR. Please advise if this schedule will be revised.
Response: The automated glycol fill station schedule on drawing 6-MH-606 has been updated to include the appropriate values and notes for the unit specified, refer to the attached sketch MSK-001 for the updated schedule.
1. Detail 13/6-AS-501 calls for new tile on (assumed new) tile backer for the Washrooms.
1. Please clarify if new tile backer will be installed at existing walls to remain within all the restrooms, or will the tile be installed directly on the existing wall finish (plaster??)?
1. If new tile backer is intended on existing partitions, will the existing (plaster?) be removed for the new tile backer?
Response to 2 a. & b.: In all washrooms where tile is removed, remove tile down to existing substrate. Where substrate is plaster, repair the existing plaster if practical or replace plaster with tile backer as indicated on note 8 on AS 101 and AS 102. Where substrate is existing tile backer or drywall, remove existing backer to substrate and replace with new.
Note 8 should be indicated in Room 102 on AS 101. On 3/AS 102, the designation indicating Note 14 should be changed to Note 8.
1. Detail 13/6-AS-501 calls for (assumed new) Type X GWB.
2. Please confirm NEW GWB will only be installed on NEW partitions within all the restrooms.
2. And all existing wall finishes will remain on existing partitions, above the wall tile.
Response to 3 a. & b.: New GWB should be installed on new partitions. Existing walls finishes may remain on existing partitions but must be repaired/refinished or replaced as necessary depending on the level of damage to the surface during demolition. If the existing GWB is used as a tile backer, then remove completely with the tile and replace with new tile backer.
1. There are conflicts between the RCP and Finish Schedule. Please clarify these:
3. Room 112 – RCP = existing GWB; FS = new GWB
Response: The existing ceiling height is approximately 8’-2”. There is new ductwork scheduled to be installed above the existing ceiling. Cut and patch existing GWB ceiling to accommodate installation of new ductwork.
3. Room 203 – RCP = existing GWB; FS = new GWB
Response: New ductwork traverses this room. Existing GWB ceiling appears to be installed tight to structure. New duct can be run exposed and painted. Run new ductwork tight to ceiling.
3. Room 225 – RCP = existing GWB; FS = new ACT
Response: Existing GWB ceiling to remain and be painted.
