RFIs – Relocate Pharmacy

(1) Light fixtures type B & C show up on the schedule but do not show up on the plans. Are we to include any and where do they show up?

Type B or C lights are not called for in this project,

(2) The documents refer to TC2 as the data closet but also state all new cabling is to 255A. This 255A is not identified in the drawings but there is a RACK listed in a closet assumed to be for the new CCTV server. Is this a new closet for all data or just CCTV?

255A should be labeled on the drawing and it is the small closet about 50 SF and two rooms to the left of breakroom 255. It can be accessed thru room 255B which is the room off of the breakroom 255. 255A houses all the CCTV equipment for 2C wing. The IT closet that the data quads terminate in is TC-2 by the service elevator.

(3) Is there a backbone required if 255A is a new closet as none is shown?

There is no backbone required for 255A.

(4) Is it the intent to reuse existing Access, CCTV and speaker equipment in the new space?

Attached equipment being reused in the pharmacy space is the RTLS equipment (clinical to remove prior to construction) and the Wireless Access points (IT to remove prior to demolition work) and the associated wiring (see notes E05.2 numbers 7 and 8, and R30.1 which states black wiring for Wi-Fi remains ). Also, any other equipment marked on drawings as existing to remain shall remain and there is still a “General Demolition Note” requirement to walk the area with VA prior to starting work to identify equipment and materials for salvage as noted on sheet A05.1.

(5) What is the location of the existing Pegasys system panel servicing the area?

The Pegasys panel serving the 2C area is in 255A.

(6) What are the working hours for this project?

Section 01 35 13 part 1.2 says Work of this project shall be performed between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM Monday through Friday, holidays excepted unless other times are arranged in advance and approved in writing by the project manager.

(7) Specification section C.3.2.1.6 calls for Ortronics patch panels as follows: OR851000334- 48 PORT & OR851000304 24 PORT But the equipment list in the specification calls for OR SP6U48 48 port AND SP6U24 24 PORT panels. Which is correct?

The equipment listing is correct OR SP6U48 and SP6U24. They are cat 6 patch panels. The specifications numbers look like older Ortronics part numbers.

(8) Bullet resistance partitions and Equipment - We couldn't locate the window size and quantity. We looked at drawing A81.1 E2 but does not include measurements. Please clarify. Dimensions: 2’-6 wide x 3’-2” high.

(9) The drawings state that the vault is on the second floor? Assume this is not on grade so there is an open floor below?

· For no “ground floor” projects the DEA will most likely need to see a six-sided vault so it has protection from an attack from below. The purpose of the vault is medicine/drug storage. The vault walls are full height (structure to structure) and the second/third floor construction serve as security/protection.

· The vault product is noted as a concrete Class-M precast panel. For jobs on upper floors or with structural floor loading issues we offer our LIGHTweight Class-M product to meet DEA reqs. It is half the weight of the concrete and usually used in second floor applications. The specified manufacturer offers a Class M product which is acceptable as long as all other performance/security requirements specified are met.

· Can you confirm the vault clear inside height? There will be no vault top; the walls/panels go from second floor to underside of third floor. Ceiling is at 8’-0” as shown on contract documents.

· Can you confirm the access where we will bring the panels and door into the space and the sizes of these openings? This is a means/methods question, the contractor/subcontractors will need to make arrangements to visit the site/building and ascertain entry path and how anticipated entry to final construction will occur.

· The vault spec has a door section that covers a standard bank style door that is not used for the DEA projects? Provide as specified.

· The vault door spec (083459) is clear about the DEA door requirements so I assume that will be the product you need? Provide as specified.

(10) The materials list shows using a 6’ Sheet Vinyl. If we use a 12’ Sheet Vinyl it will save about 60 sy of sheet Vinyl and make for a lot less welding. Is it ok to use the 12’ or do you want to use with the 6’.

If it’s the same product, the 12’ is fine.
