A17. Offeror’s should include in their CLIN 1 price temporary walks to accommodate the occupants of the Engineering/Warehouse (Building 57). The location and routing of such walks is dependent on the performance of the work within the project boundary and their location and routing should be such to afford the occupants safe passage and access from and to the building. Offeror’s should anticipate, in their pricing, the need to relocate or reroute such temporary walks as performance of the work progresses. The location and routing of temporary walks will be subject to the approval of the Resident Engineer.

Q18. 01 74 19 Paragraph 1.3, Section C, Page 2: It was mentioned at the pre-bid meeting that any LEED requirements for the demolition or new work on this project will not be necessary. Please verify.

A18. It is not intended that the project will be submitted for LEED certification. It is intended that LEED requirements be followed on the basis that such requirements establish best practice for performance of the work.

Q19. 31 20 00 Page 5: This specification section makes mention of rock excavation. This bid form provides unit pricing for rock excavation. Should the contractor assume in the base bid that NO rock excavation will take place and if any rock is encountered it will be paid for by the unit pricing?

A19. No. Offeror’s shall determine from the solicitation documents that quantity of rock removal required for performance of the work and include cost for such rock removal in their CLIN 1price. The intent of the unit pricing is to establish, for contract award purposes, a cost basis for change order adjustments to the accepted contract price for additional unforeseen rock removal that could not have been anticipated from the information in the solicitation documents.

Q20. 31 20 00, Page4: This specification mentions that earthwork will be paid for by the unit (CY).
