East Campus Demolition and Roadway VAMC Jefferson Barracks Division, St. Louis, Missouri VA Solicitation No.: 36C10F18R0688 VA Project No.: 657-313J

AMENDMENT NO. 0005 January 18, 2019

The following summarizes revisions or clarifications to VA Solicitation No. 36C10F18R0688 issued December 13, 2018. Drawings or Specifications referenced and included herein shall replace and supersede only the corresponding documents previously issued. All other documents not changed, replaced, or retracted by this or any subsequent amendment, remain a part of the solicitation. Offerors’ proposals shall acknowledge Offerors’ receipt and inclusion of this Amendment No. 0004.

REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION AND RESPONSES:

Q40. The specification calls out the "Carborundum" to be surface applied. Would the application of the product be unnecessary since the exposed aggregate concrete will have a hydro‐blast finish? The finishing process will more than likely remove the "Carborundum". Please Clarify?

A40. The finish is a micro‐exposure, not a heavy, large aggregate exposure. Some of the material will be removed with the exposure process, but not all as the intended exposure is not very deep. This mix design is a campus standard that has already been installed as a part of another project/contract.
