About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 issued by Greenville Public Schools (GPS) for the Cedar Crest Elementary HVAC Upgrades project located at 622 S Cedar Street, Greenville, Michigan. The addendum documents mechanical upgrades to the existing elementary school facility and clarifies project requirements through pre-bid meeting minutes and requests for information (RFIs). The project involves replacing the old electrical service with new service and upgrading HVAC systems, including the removal and replacement of existing HUV (horizontal unit ventilator) units. A mandatory pre-bid walk-through was held on October 15, 2026, at 4:00 P.M. at Cedar Crest Elementary. Bidders were required to submit RFIs by October 19, 2026, at 10:00 A.M., with bids due by October 27, 2026, at 11:00 A.M., followed by a public opening at the GPS Administration Building on the same date. Mandatory post-bid interviews are scheduled for October 29, 2026. Construction is set to begin June 5, 2027, during summer break, with substantial completion targeted for August 9, 2027. The project team includes Justin Rees from GPS, Craig Janetzke and Ben Sage from Kingscott, and Fritz Wahlfield III from FWC serving as construction manager.
The addendum addresses four pre-bid RFIs submitted by contractors and vendors. Key clarifications include: the construction manager will provide a generator during the electrical service replacement, with the electrical contractor responsible only for hookups; shelving units adjacent to existing HUVs are removable to facilitate unit replacement and must be carefully reinstalled afterward; and Daikin Applied is acceptable as an equal supplier for unit ventilators and condensing units, with the contractor required to verify existing casework compatibility with Daikin dimensions. The site is designated as an alcohol, drugs, and tobacco-free zone and weapons-free zone. Permitting will be handled by the State of Michigan. A general dumpster will be provided by the construction manager. No pricing information, set-asides, or funding sources are specified in this addendum document.

This project calls for the old service to be replaced with a new service. This will cause power outage throughout the school. Is the electrical contractor responsible for a generator to power the whole building or are the seperate trades responsible for their own during this time period?
CM will provide the generator, Electrical Contractor is to provide the hook ups
