About this file
This document is a demolition solicitation from the Community Development Department for the City of Jackson, Michigan, targeting a property located at 329 W. Franklin Street. The project involves complete demolition of a 2,147 square foot residential structure, with specific requirements including hazardous materials abatement according to MIOSHA and DEQ regulations, site restoration, infrastructure modifications, and landscaping. Special conditions mandate the removal of curbs, concrete, chain link fencing, and a retaining wall, along with precise grading and the planting of replacement trees, including one 2" maple tree and two 2" caliper Bradford Pear or Japanese Lilac trees.
The demolition project includes comprehensive site preparation and restoration tasks, with particular attention to ensuring proper compaction of backfill materials, maintaining surrounding infrastructure, and managing potential utility service connections. While no specific budget or funding source is detailed in the document, the specifications suggest a municipally-funded urban renewal or property clearance initiative. The contractor will be responsible for carefully executing all demolition and restoration work, ensuring compliance with local regulations and minimizing disruption to neighboring properties.
