About this file

This document is a Typical Annual Tasks Schedule attachment for landscape maintenance services at the Ohio Department of Transportation District 6 Roadside Rest Areas located at Interstate 70 Eastbound and Westbound near South Vienna, Madison County, Ohio. The schedule outlines comprehensive monthly maintenance tasks to be performed throughout the calendar year at the two rest area facilities. Services include routine turf maintenance with specified grass heights ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 inches, seasonal pruning and removal of trees and shrubs in accordance with ANSI A300 standards, mulch application and maintenance at three-inch depths in perennial beds, fertilization based on soil sample analysis, pre-emergent weed control application, perennial division and replanting, repair seeding for damaged turf areas, deadheading of flowering perennials, and leaf removal from landscape beds and turf areas. The schedule specifies seasonal timing for each task, such as winter cleanup in January, replacement plantings in February or early March, pre-emergent application before soil temperatures reach 52 degrees Fahrenheit in March, and mulch additions in April with ongoing maintenance through December.

The contract requires the awarded vendor to provide all labor, equipment, materials, and incidental items necessary to perform the contracted services on a monthly basis throughout the year. Maintenance activities are structured to address seasonal landscaping requirements, including expanded watering schedules for first-year and newly established plants during summer months, increased mowing heights during hot and dry periods, and adaptive leaf management using either manual removal or mulching mower techniques. The document permits elimination of fertilization in shrub and groundcover areas only upon written authorization from the owner's representative once plants reach maturity and completely fill their designated spaces. Special attention is given to winter damage assessment and mitigation, young tree and shrub development, and prevention of plant encroachment on walkways and pedestrian areas.
