About this file

This document is a Solicitation Amendment 1 issued by the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services Southeast Human Service Center for In-Person Medical Interpreting Services, with a bid response deadline of March 17, 2025, at 12 PM CT. The solicitation seeks a vendor to provide in-person medical interpreting services for client appointments and home visits on an as-needed basis, covering languages including Arabic, Bosnian, Farsi, Somali, Spanish, and others frequently used in Fargo, ND. The current contract is held by Family Healthcare, and the state is requesting a firm fixed hourly rate with a 60-minute minimum billing period.

The solicitation specifies that bidders must provide a single hourly rate applicable to all languages, with no mileage reimbursement or virtual interpreting options permitted. The state will verify and pay for hours worked monthly, with the successful offeror required to ensure annual medical interpreting training for individual interpreters. Historical language service utilization shows varying demand, with Nepali (2,460 hours), Kirundi (1,980 hours), and Somali (1,710 hours) being the most frequently requested languages in the previous calendar year. The procurement is strictly for in-person services, and the state is seeking a comprehensive interpreting solution that can meet their diverse language needs across medical settings.
