VSS Project Site Visit Questions/Answers

1. Is it possible to re-use material from bldg. 3, SFP’s, cable, fiber etc.

- I don’t have objections for the reuse of SFPs and switches from bldg. 3, however I would object to the reuse of cable runs by pulling and reinstalling elsewhere.

2. Is there cable ran from bldg. 1 straight to Bldg10

- No direct run according to any of the documentation I have seen. If there is one it would run through bldg. 3 anyway and is being demolished. As far as I know, current plans do not include installing an in-ground vault to keep any of those runs.

3. Are cameras on a separate network

- Yes.

4. What is the reason for utilizing both Single Mode and Multi-Mode switches

- Single mode is what has been run recently for our own network, and we happen to have enough to spare for other networks.

5. Will winning bidder be required to remove all old feeds, cable, wires

- No. Old feeds, cables, and wires should be covered in the bldg. 3 demo project. We will also need those runs up until the building is ready to come down.

6. Multi-mode tie-in to what bldg.

- Multimode exists everywhere except the new runs they’ll be patching in. Single mode specifically exists from bldgs. 1 to 7, 7 to 4, and 4 to 10.
