About this file

This document is a question and answer (Q&A) file related to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) for an Online Assessments: Career and Technical Education Employability and Technical Skills contract. The contract will cover the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years, with services potentially starting on October 11, 2022. The RFP seeks vendors to provide online assessments for up to 74 Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs of study, including both technical skills assessments and employability skills assessments. An estimated 13,000 students will take the employability skills assessment, and 16,000 students will take the technical skills assessments. The Q&A responses provide details on assessment requirements, such as the need for performance-based and multiple-choice options, correlation to academic standards, and alignment to Nevada's CTE program standards. The RFP also includes details on testing windows, registration systems, and data reporting requirements.

The RFP instructs vendors to use specific student population estimates for pricing purposes, though all students completing a CTE program may be required to take both assessments. The contract does not mention any set-asides or incumbent information. Funding sources and amounts are not specified, but the assessments are intended to support Nevada's CTE programs statewide. The proposal submission deadline is August 16, 2022, with an anticipated contract start date of October 11, 2022.
