About this file

The document is a detailed specification for Tennis Court Upgrades, outlining comprehensive requirements for court surface renovation and improvement. The project scope includes refurbishment and/or replacement of existing tennis court surfaces and drainage upgrades, with specifications covering surface removal, preparation, new surfacing, and court dimensions. The preferred surfacing system is an acrylic resurfacing system like Plexipave or DecoTurf, with alternative options including post-tensioned concrete, synthetic turf, or clay. The specification provides precise USTA-standard court dimensions for singles and doubles play, specifying a total playing area of 120' x 60' minimum, with white textured acrylic line markings.

Key technical specifications include a 1% cross slope for drainage, detailed surface preparation requirements, and specific installation guidelines for net posts and center anchors. The document emphasizes quality control measures such as laser leveling, water drainage testing, and material sample approvals. Environmental and safety considerations are highlighted, including dust and noise control, low-VOC material usage, and OSHA safety standard compliance. Warranty requirements are clearly defined, with a minimum 2-year manufacturer warranty for the surfacing system, a 1-year contractor workmanship warranty, and 1-2 years for net posts. Drainage improvements are a critical component, with specifications to ensure no standing water after one hour of rainfall, using methods like French drains, perimeter trench drains, or slope correction.
