About this file

This Scope of Work document details laundry services requirements for Florida Atlantic University's residential student housing at its Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses. The university is seeking qualified vendors to provide a comprehensive laundry service program including washer and dryer unit leasing, installation, preventative maintenance, and service call response for approximately 5,800 students. The project encompasses 152 high-capacity laundry room units for residence halls and 390 in-unit washer/dryer sets for student and staff apartments. All equipment must be commercial-grade, energy-efficient units with ADA compliance in required locations, supplied with stainless steel burst-proof flexible hoses. Installation and removal of old equipment is scheduled for summer 2026, with a service agreement start date of July 1, 2026. The contract will have a minimum term of five years with options to extend up to a maximum of ten years. Bidders must submit questions through an electronic Q&A board, and proposals should include similar work experience, university references, and documentation of high machine uptime records.

The contractor will retain ownership of all laundry equipment while the university maintains ownership and access rights to any student data generated by digital monitoring systems. Proposers must demonstrate proven experience with university or large housing communities and provide disaster response and contingency plans. Service requirements include dedicated on-site technician(s) with verified level 2 background checks, service call response within one to two business days, monthly meetings with Housing Facilities leadership, annual preventive maintenance during summer break, annual vent cleaning, and weekly inspections of shared community laundry facilities. The contractor is responsible for all shipping, delivery, installation, venting, ongoing maintenance, parts replacement, liability insurance, and reimbursement for damages to clothing caused by equipment malfunction. The contract includes built-in performance guarantees and penalty structures for unmet service expectations, with all work completed in compliance with local and state building codes and university standards.
