About this file
This is a General Artificial Intelligence Provisions document for the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, applicable to the Printed #10 Envelopes – Court-Wide procurement. The document establishes contractual requirements and terms governing the use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in the performance of services or delivery of products related to this solicitation. The RFQ seeks quotes for production and delivery of printed #10 business envelopes to support the Court's operations across its 38 locations. Vendors may respond to all or some line items, though the Court may elect to award the entire contract to a single vendor. The quote submission period requires responses within 90 days of the solicitation issuance, and all specifications, material requirements, and pricing instructions are detailed in the accompanying RFQ document. Vendors must provide all requested information directly on the submission documents, as incomplete submissions may be deemed non-responsive.
Pricing must be all-inclusive except for applicable taxes, with quotes limited to new products only; used or refurbished items are not acceptable, and alternate brands will not be considered. The GenAI provisions likely impose restrictions or requirements on vendors' use of artificial intelligence systems in fulfering the contract, including limitations on data usage, output generation, and compliance with the Court's intellectual property and confidentiality standards. By submitting a response, vendors accept all terms, conditions, rules, and procedures outlined in the solicitation documents. The bid contact is Salvador Vargas, and all submissions must comply with the specifications and conditions established in the complete solicitation package.

Request for Quotes Generative Artificial Intelligence
1. Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI)
a. Definitions.
“Artificial intelligence” or “AI” means technology that enables computers and machines to reason, learn, and act in a way that would typically require human intelligence.
“Generative Artificial Intelligence” or “GenAI” means an artificial intelligence system that can generate derived synthetic content, including text, images, video, audio, code, and data visualizations, that emulates the structure and characteristics of the system’s training data.
b. In its quote, Vendors must notify the Court if Vendor’s goods or services contain or utilize GenAI (or will contain or utilize GenAI), or if GenAI is or will be included in any services, goods, or deliverables that materially impact:
1) functionality of a Court system (i.e., the work using GenAI could have a significant, substantial effect on the system’s data integrity, availability, confidentiality, or security, and failure to perform such work in accordance with the contract could cause major disruptions to court operations);
2) risk to the Court (i.e., the work using GenAI could have a significant, substantial effect on the Court’s operations, finances, security, or reputation, and failure to perform such work in accordance with the contract would constitute a high likelihood of damage to the Court); or
3) contract performance (i.e., when failure to conduct work which uses GenAI in accordance with the contract would constitute a material breach of contract).
c. A Vendor’s failure to disclose GenAI to the Court may result in disqualification (at the Court’s sole discretion), and the Court reserves the right to seek any and all relief it may be entitled to as a result of such non-disclosure.
d. The Court reserves the right to incorporate GenAI-related provisions into the final contract and to reject bids/offers that present an unacceptable level of risk to the Court, as determined by the Court in its sole discretion.
