About this file

The document is a Contract Award Notification for Sludge Collection Equipment-Replacement Parts issued by the County of Rockland's Department of General Services Purchasing Division. The contract, designated as RFB-RC-2023-078, covers replacement parts for primary and secondary settling tanks at the Rockland County Sewer District #1 treatment plant, with a contract period from October 10, 2023, through October 9, 2024, and the option to extend through October 9, 2025. The bid includes multiple line items for various components such as sprockets, chains, flights, wear shoes, shafts, and other specialized equipment. A pre-bid meeting was scheduled for August 24, 2023, and the award will be made on a line-by-line basis to the lowest responsive responsible bidder(s).

The contract allows for price adjustments no more frequently than once per 6-month period, with requests requiring written documentation and supporting evidence of commodity cost changes. The Director of Purchasing will review price adjustment requests, typically not approving increases exceeding 5% unless unusual industry changes occur. Multiple vendors were awarded different line items, including GP Jager Inc., Eastern Industrial Automation, and Brandt Manufacturing. The quantities listed are estimates, and actual purchases will depend on the Rockland County Sewer District #1's requirements. The specifications are detailed, requiring specific manufacturing standards, material compositions, and performance characteristics for each type of equipment component, with an emphasis on compatibility, interconnectability, and equivalence to existing equipment.
