HVLS Fans Sources Sought Vendor Questions & Answers

Q1: What is the mounting structure? (Steel beam, steel joist, wood)?

Steel Beam for two of the fans, and Purlins for one of the fans. But if a contractor has an alternate method, we are open to it as well.

Q2: Will we need to run power? If so, how long are the runs in ft (250 is considered in scope if out of scope we will charge additional)?

Yes, the contractor will need to include conduit, wire, and electrical tie-in to the sub panel. The rough dimensions of the facility are 270' long, 80' wide, and 27'-36' tall

Q3: Will we need to install a Fire relay?

Yes, a fire relay will be needed. Either the Fan contactor or a sub-contractor will need to install the fire relay and program the fans into the fire alarm system.

Q4: Will we need to provide a lift for the work? If so, what is the ceiling height?

Yes, the contractor will need to include lift equipment in their proposals. Ceiling height varies between ~27’-36’. 9 CES will provide available As-built drawings.

Q5: Will there be a prevailing wage?

Yes, DBA will apply to covered construction efforts.
