About this file

This document is a Network Environment Summary for the Susquehanna River Basin Commission (SRBC), a federal-interstate compact agency headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with an additional office in Sayre, Pennsylvania. The summary outlines SRBC's current IT infrastructure as of January 1, 2026, which supports approximately 60 employees and includes dual internet service providers (Comcast Business Class Modem at 1GB/35 and Verizon FIOS at 940/880), a redundant wireless ISP through Verizon Wireless Cradle Point, and two Fortinet/FortiGate Firewalls deployed across the Harrisburg and Sayre offices connected via VPN. The network infrastructure consists of multiple FortiGate switches including five Edge Switches, two Core Switches, two iSCSI 10G Switches, one Ubiquiti UniFi 6XG POE switch supporting five access points, and four additional POE switches, along with one DMZ Switch.

The server environment comprises three Dell PowerEdge R650 physical host servers running VMware ESXi 8.0.3, one Dell PowerEdge 610 host server for VEEAM replication, and 28 virtual servers distributed across Windows 2016 (19 servers) and Linux (9 servers) platforms. Storage infrastructure includes an iXSystem True NAS X20 SAN for primary data storage and a QNAP TS 1232PXU NAS device for on-site nightly backup retention of approximately 180 days. Additional physical servers support specialized functions including a MaxPro NVR server for security and surveillance, a Q-Sys server for audiovisual and IT operations in the Susquehanna Conference Center, and an SRBImage server for P:Drive photo storage connections. This infrastructure assessment is being provided in support of SRBC's Request for Qualifications 2026-001 for IT Strategic Consulting Services, which seeks to evaluate the current IT framework, identify gaps and risks, and develop a prioritized roadmap aligned with organizational goals and budget constraints.
