About this file

This is an Insurance Specifications attachment document for Virginia's Architectural and Engineering Services As Needed contract. The document establishes comprehensive insurance requirements that contractors must maintain throughout the contract term. The specifications mandate that all service providers obtain and maintain multiple types of insurance coverage, including general liability, professional liability, and workers' compensation insurance. The insurance requirements apply to all architectural and engineering services performed on an as-needed basis for the contracting agency, with coverage limits and policy terms specified to protect the state and the public during service delivery.

The insurance specifications detail minimum coverage amounts, policy requirements, and documentation procedures that contractors must follow. All policies must name the Commonwealth of Virginia as an additional insured party where applicable, and contractors are required to provide certificates of insurance prior to commencing work. The specifications outline notification requirements for policy changes, cancellations, or lapses in coverage, ensuring continuous protection throughout the contract period. These insurance mandates are standard protective measures for professional services contracts and represent a condition of contract award and performance.
