About this file
This is an Addendum 01 document issued by the Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) on August 28, 2026, for Solicitation No. ITB 27009 regarding the Bradley Lake 3-Phase Power Long Lead Equipment project. The addendum provides clarifications and modifications to the original Invitation to Bid documents and must be acknowledged by all bidders via email prior to the bid due date. The solicitation seeks bids for the purchase and delivery of three-phase long-lead equipment including conductor, fiber, switchgear, and fiberglass elbows to support the Bradley Lake three-phase power upgrade in Alaska.
The addendum addresses technical specifications through a Questions and Answers section, clarifying cable insulation requirements and conductor specifications. Regarding primary cable specifications, the addendum confirms that bidders should quote 350kcmil copper with 133% ethylene propylene rubber (EPR) insulation and 1/3 concentric configuration, superseding the original specification that indicated 100% insulation. Additionally, the addendum permits TRXLP insulation to be offered as a deductive alternate, allowing bidders flexibility in material selection while maintaining compliance with Alaska's standard 133% insulation requirements for 15kV cables.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:
1. Question: Could you provide some clarification on the primary cable? Typically, we quote 133% insulation for 15kV cables in Alaska, but the specifications indicated 100% insulations.
Answer: That should be 350kcmil CU, 133% EPR, 1/3 Concentric.
2. Question: The insulation type is not identified. Could you confirm that the insulation should be EPR or TRXLP?
Answer: TRXLP can be offered as a deductive alternate.
