About this file
This is a permit document from the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) related to the North Himes Avenue at West Waters Avenue intersection improvement project in Hillsborough County, Florida. The project, estimated at $2,594,198.34, encompasses intersection improvements including replacement of the existing box span wire signal with mast arms, roadway widening, milling and resurfacing, installation of miscellaneous drainage improvements, ADA sidewalk and pedestrian curb ramp improvements, and signing and pavement marking. The SWFWMD permit is required as part of the environmental and regulatory approval process for the proposed work, ensuring compliance with water management district requirements and wetlands protection standards applicable to the project location.
The permit establishes the regulatory framework and conditions under which the Hillsborough County Engineering and Operations Department contractor must execute the intersection improvements. The document specifies requirements for stormwater management, drainage design, and any wetland or surface water protection measures necessary to comply with Florida water management regulations. A 5% Small Business Enterprise (SBE) subcontractor goal has been established for the solicitation, reflecting the county's commitment to inclusive contracting practices for this infrastructure improvement project.
