About this file

This is a scope of work document for Dixon Correctional Center in Illinois, detailing required kitchen hood fire suppression system testing and repairs. The project involves three Ansul fire suppression systems serving different kitchen areas: a 15-gallon system for the North Production Hood, a 6-gallon system for the Culinary Hood, and a 3-gallon system for the South Production Hood. All three systems require full 12-year hydrostatic testing and maintenance, as they were last tested in 2014 and are now overdue for certification. The scope of work includes removal and hydrostatic testing of system tanks, replacement of cartridges, O-rings, and burst discs, replacement of eighteen aluminum link holders with stainless steel UL-listed components, replacement of four clogged duct nozzles, reconfiguration of griddle nozzle drops for proper coverage, installation of bursting disc union assemblies on System #1, and full system reassembly with testing and commissioning.

Upon completion, all systems must be returned to service and verified to operate in accordance with manufacturer specifications, UL 300 requirements, and applicable NFPA standards. The contract represents compliance work to address code deficiencies and ensure the kitchen fire suppression systems meet current safety and operational standards required for a correctional facility kitchen environment.
