About this file
The document is a Questions and Answers Part 1 file related to a networking infrastructure procurement by the Illinois Secretary of State, specifically addressing a one-time purchase of network cabling components. The procurement involves Category 6 and Category 6A networking equipment, including CommScope SYSTIMAX Solutions Category 6A Jacks, copper cable, and Tripp Lite Cat6 Ethernet Cables. The solicitation seeks 25 boxes of copper cable, 400 Ethernet cables, and 2,000 Category 6A Jacks, with the contract term not exceeding ten years and will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder through the BidBuy platform.
The procurement requires vendors to provide firm pricing inclusive of shipping costs, with a bid due date of May 23, 2025. Vendors must submit a Certificate of Insurance naming the Agency as an additional insured, with $1,000,000 per occurrence for General Commercial Liability and Auto Liability insurance. The Q&A document confirms that the purchasing team has verified the specified part numbers based on their historical purchasing practices, indicating a continuation of existing technical infrastructure standards. While no specific set-asides are mentioned, vendors must comply with State of Illinois procurement regulations, demonstrate ethical standards, and potentially navigate potential federal funding involvement, though the exact funding percentage remains undisclosed.

1. Will this be a one time purchase or a fully executed contract.
a. This is a one time purchase as there is an immediate need.
2. I noticed on the part numbers provided below, the cable is Category 6 and the jacks are Category 6A. Not sure if that was intentional or if you'd like a Category 6 system or Category 6A system.
a. We have verified with our team that this is how we have purchased in the past, and the part numbers are correct in their purchasing.
