About this file

This is an EJCDC Construction Contract Bid Package for the City of Gunnison, Colorado, specifically for the Sewer Cleanout Deletion project in the Sun Spot Neighborhood (Project ID: 25-08). The city is soliciting electronic bids from qualified contractors to remove sewer cleanouts on 11 service lines, with bid submissions due by March 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM Mountain Time through the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System (RMEPS). The project aims to improve sewer infrastructure functionality by eliminating unnecessary cleanouts, which contribute to inflow and infiltration issues, and is scheduled for completion in April 2025 to minimize operational disruptions.

The bid is structured as a single lump sum contract, with bidders required to submit comprehensive proposals that include excavation and removal of cleanouts, line repair and restoration, site restoration, traffic and safety management, and documentation reporting. The City of Gunnison will provide pipe, fittings, and a community communication plan. Bidders must comply with specific submission requirements, including completing all bid form sections, providing evidence of business authorization in Colorado, and acknowledging potential addenda. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder, with a 60-day bid acceptance period, and the city reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Additionally, the city is exempt from Colorado state sales and use taxes on materials and equipment to be incorporated in the work.

General Information:

The City of Gunnison is requesting bids from qualified contractors to delete sewer cleanouts on 11 (eleven) sewer service lines in the Sun Spot neighborhood. The cleanouts are no longer needed and must be removed to improve service line functionality, reduce maintenance issues, and address inflow and infiltration (I&I) concerns.

Inflow and infiltration, caused by stormwater and groundwater entering the sewer system through unnecessary openings such as cleanouts, can lead to capacity issues, increased treatment costs, and system inefficiencies. By removing these cleanouts and restoring the service lines, this project aims to enhance the overall performance and reliability of the City's sewer infrastructure.

The project is expected to be completed in April 2025 to minimize disruptions and align with the City’s operational schedule.

Scope of Work:

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:

1. Excavation and Removal:
