About this file

This is an Asbestos Inspection Report for Building #1826 at MCB Camp Lejeune, dated December 16, 2025. The inspection determined that no asbestos-containing materials (ACM) were identified during the initial asbestos inspection, resulting in a hazard ranking of 0/BLUE with no further action required. The building, constructed in 1952 and occupied for general storage (GEN STG A/G/ORG), contained no friable or non-friable ACM records in the database at the time of the report.

The inspection documented ten samples collected on May 19, 2006, from various building locations including concrete expansion joint material, vinyl base and adhesive, drywall and joint material, interior and exterior caulking, gypsum board ceiling, and miscellaneous sealants. All samples tested negative for asbestos content (0% chrysotile, 0% amosite, 0% other asbestos types). The report specifies that ACM presents a health hazard only when asbestos fibers are airborne and inhaled, and directs building occupants to avoid disturbing materials. Maintenance and inspection protocols are outlined, including prohibition on sanding, grinding, or abrading materials, and requirements to report any damage or changes in material condition to the Camp Lejeune Asbestos Program Manager at (910) 451-5837.
